From what Arthur told me, he and Gregor fell into some sorta trance and they were the ones who snapped 'em out of it. He was pretty sure it was them, too, but they didn't stick around long enough to answer any questions.
I don't think they know, anyway. Like, Arthur just said that they left before he or Gregor could ask them any questions. But, uh... The reason I'm bringin' it up is because I didn't even know Lucien and Shu were in the anomaly with me for a while. I was actually with Viktor and Shouxue when I came to. And I'm pretty sure it was them because they looked surprised to see me before our brains got scrambled and we forgot all about our real lives.
[ all of this is extremely concerning, actually. like, not just the part about arthur and gregor but also harley being with two of the dead and also hearing about more memory shit. so he's frowning pretty heavily for a moment. ]
How are they crossing over like this? Yesterday they had to take on those weird pixelated forms and even then it wasn't a guarantee. [ god. okay, that aside. ] If you forgot about the truth, what did you think was happening...? How bad?
Hmm... I've been thinkin' about those decommissioning messages we get on Fridays. You know, the ones that say their data's being sent to the ship's backend. Well, I've got this friend who died but he was a cyborg, so his consciousness got uploaded to his eye and he gave it to me before he, uh... left. What if when they say their data's getting sent to the backend, they mean all the data?

We thought we were part of the world the whole anomaly took place in. Or at least me, Viktor and Shouxue did. Apparently Lucien and Shu were fine, and so was Eunhyuk. Because, surprise! He was with 'em the whole time.

[ he really did ask her-mes if there were ghosts in the machine, very funny. ] We know that they don't have a corporeal form and that they're made up of what's being called memory. So it's entirely possible they're being...I don't want to say they're being coded into the ship since they can move around, but maybe tied into it for stability. With your friend, were you able to reupload his consciousness...?
Not really. We don't have any spare robot bodies laying around so we just plugged him up to an old TV. He can't move but it works fine for letting him talk to people.

Right. I heard the trip Lucien and Rodya went on a couple of weeks ago was, uh, to a weird copy of my world. So I think this is more proof that our memories are getting uploaded to the ship.

Wait, that's what all of that was? [ i, ty, realized this but he never got clarity. ] Ours was to the place Gregor, Rodya and Yuri are from but it was only based off of memories Gregor and Rodya had. And the mission Amalthea was on with Rosamund, Nodd and Yuri was something she was familiar with from her home. I hadn't thought about our actual memories being uploaded, but that's probably something we should be on the lookout for.
